The Phoenix Insurrection

by Jye Nicholson

It would seem that reality had not ended with a bang OR a whimper. Instead, it had frozen into an eternal utopia ruled by invincible Exalted demigods.

Intolerable!

Finding that their fanged feeding maws could get no purchase upon the perfected world, the hideous and parasitic conglomerations of Essence known to the ignorant as the Fae, and amongst themselves as the Raksha, were furious.

Naturally, they blamed each other, and narrative battle was joined. However, Raksha cannot kill Raksha, only change them with tales, and the mightiest of them soon tired of their war of stories.

These four Princes of Chaos, most sublime of all predators, refused to despair. Though they could not challenge the world of the Exalted, could they not forge a new world, as the old one had once been forged? As one, they strode forth to challenge the very Shinma, the Names which define what is and what is not, to glorious battles of storytelling.

Should they win, would not the Shinma themselves change to match the tales, and a new world be born?

It is said they bested Nirupadhika, the principle of Space, Nirvishesha who named Identity, Advaita, Dharma, Nirkara and Nishkriya!

And thus All Things were created, a universe in which we dwell, that the four greatest Fair Folk might feed as they please.

Let us hear the story they told to bring it about...
