Game Length and Scenarios
Each game will be 2 hours plus 2D6 minutes. The extra time will not be disclosed to the players, to ensure players do not try and stall for time.
If all games in a round finish early, the next round will start early, with extra time allocations. There will be 6 games over the weekend, using the normal "Legions of Middle Earth" scenarios and rules.
Games used will be:
- Domination
- Conquest of Champions
- Reconnoitre
- Take the High Ground
- Clash of Piquet's
- To the Death
If you get the same table multiple times, you may ask the Tournament Organiser to rearrange the terrain for you before you roll for table edges.
Scoring
At the start of each round a Score card will be placed on your table. At the end of the game, please fill the card in and hand it to the Tournament Organiser.
Scores:
- Major Victory: 5 points for the Win, 1 point for the Loss.
- Minor Victory: 4 points for the Win, 2 points for the Loss.
- Draw: Both players receive 3 points.
- An additional battle point is awarded for killing your opponents designated leader.
At the end of each game you need to give your opponent a Sportmanship Score, based on how well you enjoyed the game, from 1 to 3. A score of 1 means the game wasn't very fun, while 3 is a lot of fun.
Painting
All armies will be judged on painted and presentation. These score do not effect the Best Army Award.
You gain 2 points for each of the following:
- The Army is fully painted.
- The Army has been painted very well. Highlights and shadowing has been taken to the next step.
- The Army has been based.
- The Army list has been displayed clearly, and is easy to read.
All models must be undercoated at the very least. Models that are not undercoated will be removed from the table. This matter will not be discussed, and failure to comply may result in disqualification.
Rules Interpretation and Disputes
If players have any rule interpretation problems or are unsure of a certain rule please call for one of the tournament organizers any judgement made by the organizers are final and will not be argued further.
DO NOT ask other players for their opinion on a rule, they have their game to play and you have yours. Any player caught interfering with other players games will receive zero sportsmanship for that round.
All Measurements will be made in INCHES
None of the Common Scenario-specific rules that are detailed in the main rule book will be used unless the mission being played allows it (they will be repeated anyway).
In regard to the 'Spectres' special rule 'a fell light is in them', the following will apply:
- Models do not need line of sight to cast the power.
- Targeted models may only be affected by the power once; however they still may be targeted multiple times.
- Models affected still have control zones.
- Models targeted may not be forced to perform complex actions or that cause direct harm.
- Models may not be moved into combat.
Woods will follow the following rules:
- Any model shooting into a forest will have to pass an 'in the way test' this also includes models shooting at other models who are in the same wood.
- If a model is touching the outside edge of the wood, they do not need to take an 'in the way' to shoot out, however they will still count as having an 'in the way' between them and other models.
- For a model to benefit from being in a woods they must have their base fully inside the wood.
- Models that have their base partially in the wood count as moving at half speed.
Mordor Orc Drummer: You can only benefit from the effects of one drum a turn.
Spiders and Movement:
- Spiders May move over buildings and up and across walls, however they must end their movement with their base flat on the table. (i.e. they cannot end their move vertically on a terrain piece)
- Spiders may charge over walls but you must have line of sight to the enemy at the start of your move.
Awards
Three Awards will be given.
Overall Winner: The player with the highest overall points total will be awarded Overall Winner.
